For a place to have beer and wings in New York, Buffalo Wild Wings may come to mind. There are multiple locations around the city, but this particular one I went to is in Forest Hills. Known as a popular sports bar/casual dining restaurant, you’ll find any major sports game screening on their many many televisions.
First warning: don’t expect good service. I’ve been to this location on various occasions, and I don’t remember once with decent service. This place is usually pretty busy, but even when it’s not service doesn’t seem to be any better. I’m always waiting- waiting for a table, for my server’s attention, for my food… everything seems so slow.
Last night, I ordered the honey BBQ salad. I had no utensils on my table. I sat there until I got impatient. Why are utensils not set as soon as we ordered food or right after the food is placed? Worse part is my server was never around- I had to walk around the restaurant searching for her.
The salad was dry… no dressing was provided. The only thing sauced was my flavorless piece of chicken breast on the salad with barbecue sauce. I’ll never order a salad from there again. One thing that may have me return is the parmesan garlic wings- these are pretty good… I stole a few pieces from my friends so I can substitute it with the unwanted chicken breast.
Location: 10716 71st Ave, Forest Hills, NY 11375
Cost: $12 for my salad… what?!
Specials: I visited on a Saturday and there was 20% off Strong Bow and Heineken; wing special on Tuesdays.
